Early To Bed (1928) ***

A curiosity among Laurel & Hardy films, and much disliked by their hardcore fans, because Ollie plays such a sadistic and unpleasant character. Unlike the team's usual formula, where Ollie suffers because of Stan's ineptness, here it's Stan who suffers because of Ollie's meanness. Still, the film is quite funny as a black comedy of sorts.
