Small Fry (1939) ****

Bing Crosby hit tune "Small Fry" (first introduced in his 1938 film "Sing You Sinners") is far from being the only attraction of this excellent Max Fleischer cartoon about a little catfish playing hooky and hanging around pool parlors. The highlight is a quasi-surrealistic initiation to the Big Fry Club, where the little fella is scared out of his wits by huge, predatory sea monsters.
