Of Fox And Hounds (1940) **

A curious film. On the one hand, it's the first appearance of Willoughby, a dog seen later in "The Crackpot Quail" (1941) and "The Heckling Hare" (1941). But on the other hand, it feels like an inferior remake of "The Wild Hare" (1940), with similar, but less memorable, characters. And its attempts to satirize "Of Mice And Men" aren't entirely successful.
